    Dear all

I bought my passport on first day of launch!

Heard from my dealer about telcos having limited pieces available and he only has 5 sets.

He further insisted about Blackberry only producing 1 million Passports for worldwide distribution.

True? Anyone with reliable waterloo source can verify?

For the first production run, maybe.

If demand keeps momentum I'm sure they will be glad to flood the market with Passports

One report said BlackBerry shipped a limited number in its initial production. A big batch is expected to ship next wed

I doubt that is true because Blackberry only projected to sell 240,000 by the end of December. So the first production run would be about 250k I think.

1 million seems widely optimistic in the current climate. Also need to consider they only sold 2million devices total in the last quarter.

"Projected" doesn't sound like the appropriate word to me, "expected" could maybe be better but still sounds BS to me.
I don't know where you got these numbers from but I don't think they're right since they've already sold 200k units in North America only... by your numbers they gave 200k units for North America and 40k units for the rest of the world? kinda lame.

It's smart to limited runs, no person wanting will care about waiting 30d for one. Plus, he knows full well many like me are waiting for a classic to do a straight up comparison before committing to which one to get. So 250k make sense...I'd be shocked if they made 1m... That's a huge investment on a niche phone with bad launch historical figures for them with all bb10 devices with the exception of maybe the z3...

In business you always project business outcomes and not expect. I am sure the 240k figure came from BNN.Ca, if I find a link, I will post it.

They sold through 2.4 million, with 70% being BB10
