I bought a used 9700 a couple of months ago and it was working great. Suddenly the trackpad became slow to respond and would not respond at all at times. Did a reboot, etc., which would help for a while but then start again. Tried a new OS, same thing. Bought a new trackpad and same thing. It then became apparent that it only happened after putting it asleep in the magnetic pouch. Could the magnet be messing with the trackpad? Anyone else heard of a similar problem? I'm stumped. Thanks for any advice.

I use the magnetic pouch as well and haven't had any issues.

    Reboot doesn't work?!
Installed a New OS and you still have the same problem?!
Already bought a new trackpad and you still have the same problem?!

    Try this:
    1) Take out your Battery Cover
    2) Punch the Battery (While your BlackBerry is working)
    3) Put the Battery Cover back in, Try this - This helps my friend with the trackpad issues

I figure it has to be some sort of hardware issue because nothing else seems to work (haven't tried punching the battery, LOL). Thought maybe someone had knowledge of why this would happen.
