I've replaced my trackball already, and now it is not working again. I cleaned it with an alcohol pad, and it worked for about 45 minutes. I can't scroll right, and I have to push it multiple times to get it to work.

Those that have used the trackpad...are you experiencing similar issues, or is that the answer?

I had that problem with my 8900. I think it was oil on the trackball. I started cleaning the trackball thoroughly every day with a Windex Wipe by going over the trackball several times and it took care of the problem ... it did take several days though.

I doubt you'll have any of these problems with the trackpad. Although the trackpad has other issues.

i dont mind the trackball at all. but i am guessing the trackpad would be great. i went from the tmobile dash to the 8320 and the d pad on the dash is similar in theory to the trackpad.

This thread looks like it's been dead for a week or so but I have to give my input on the trackball and trackpad. I have an 8320 which I love very much. Yes, I know it's an old device. Just this morning, my trackball got messed up and in the process of fixing it I broke it. I was unable to do basically nothing except answer calls or make calls for almost a day. Being that I am so addicted to my Crackberry, I needed to get my fix so after work I went to a store to purchase a trackball which cost me an arm and a leg because I couldn't wait for some store to ship it which would have taken two to four days. LOL

As far as the trackpad goes, I went to a TMO store to play around with the 8520 and honestly I did not like the trackpad. Maybe I need more time getting used to it but it felt like I wasn't moving on the screen. I'm sure all BBs will come with trackpads from now on but I've gotten so used to my 8320 that I'm thinking about keeping it until it says bye-bye. For some strange reason, I think I prefer the trackball instead.
