I'm probably going to get the Tour, but I have this curiousity about the S2. I've never had a touch screen before, and maybe I'll hate it. But then I'm also thinking I'll miss my Pearl. I have loved my Pearl but I feel like it's time for an upgrade (and per Verizon, we can get new phones as early as Saturday). I can type with one hand with my Pearl, and with a bigger phone I know I won't be able to do that. But I know the Tour (or S2) is a step up.

Thanks for reading my stream of consciousness!

Wait for the Storm 2 to come out and try it. If you don't like it take it back and get the Tour.

Yea just test it out and before the 30 days are up take it back and get either one, personally I prefer a physical keyboard better but that's just me and WiFi those are really the only difference between the 2 devices

I recently upgraded to the Tour from the Pearl. I miss my Pearl, but it was starting to feel sluggish, probably from one too many drops and limited memory. I actually, tried the Storm 1 when it first came out; despite all that has been said, it was OK after the software upgrades. However, I never really became a fan. In terms of an all-around PMP device, the iPod Touch is better. (I also tried the Flip, but am not a fan of the form factor). The Tour rocks and one-handed typing is possible for short messages, but I think I was faster on SureType. The major detraction is the size. I dislike belt holsters and the Pearl in it's pouch was perfect for throwing in pants/shorts pockets. A refurbished Pearl is around as a back-up but I am appreciating the Tour upgrade more and more. The Tour is manageable and will do until the Striker/Stratus becomes a reality.

Head to any phone store and play with a touch screen phone, you won't get the feel for the Storm2 but you will get get a better understanding of using a touch screen. You may realize you enjoy it or not. At first I hated touch screen phones, but now I love them! So, using one for a while and understanding the pros and cons is really important.

The last thing you want to do is purchase one and realize you don't like it, try them out (any touch screen) and see how it feels.

To those who responded with helpful comments, I thank you! You made some good points. I will continue to think about it and somehow make my decision! At least Verizon gives me those 30 days to really figure it out.
