Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I finally found an app that will allow you to view Topo maps and mesh your GPS with them on the BB Curve. Its the "Where" application, and you have to add the widget called Fugawi to be able to use the interface to view Topos and view your GPS location.

Is anyone else using Where? I find it EXTREMELY slow on my 8310. They've got a couple of other neat widgets you can add, but the topo maps feature is all I cared about. And its free for certain phones, including the curve.

The question I have, is why in the world has Google not added a View Topo feature to their Google Map Mobile app??? Doesn't seem like it would take much for them to add that in.

Do a Google search for Touratel to find the Topo app for Where.

Anyway to get this application without using text messaging? I don't have text allowances and don't want to provide my number if I cannot control getting who knows how many text messages.

Thanks for sharing this. I to have been looking for free topos on my BlackBerry. You're right, it is really slow but hey at least we have it.
