Going hiking in CO this summer and am looking for any apps that could utilize my GPS in relation to a topo map. Anyone heard of such an app? I have a storm.

Here's a link although the maps are not cheap and I don't think they have Colorado available yet:

    TopoExplorer for BlackBerry

There was another program/viewer but I don't recall where there was a topo module.

The issue might be one of receiving DATA for some stuff in the boonies. Although the top one is offline.

I would think that you would be better served with a Garmin eTrex Legend HCx (or Vista HCx) (They are waterproof and much more rugged than a BlackBerry.) and maps from GPSFileDepot - Custom Maps for your GPSr .

The maps on that site are very good, and they are free.

Here's the Colorado page. GPSFileDepot - Colorado Garmin Maps

And by using a dedicated GPS unit, you will not have to worry about being in areas with no data coverage.
