The street just put up this embarrassment of an article:

    http://www.thestreet.com/story/12927...o&cm_ven=YAHOO

I'm not gonna let off any spoilers but factually the only BlackBerry on that list is completely wrong.

I've never particularly liked that variant of 'Berry. BB has made many much better-looking phones.

Well #1 is definitely the ugliest phone I've ever seen, as for the rest, a mix of slabs and "different " phones. I can't really say they're ugly, they're just not the same as almost everything else out there. I actually quite liked the Sony Ericsson Play and that little Microsoft slider.

cant say i really liked the 9981 either. the regular 9900 was far better looking phone. Even the theme on the 9981 was a step down over OS 7

Regarding PD phone.. IMO when a phone has build quality as good as that you can only truly appreciate its design by having it to hold in your hands..

I don't think pictures or design mocks can do the design justice in those cases.. Coincidentally, I have a Passport and also think that the pictures don't do justice to the build quality that this phone has..

"Ugly" is a subjective term. You can't be "factually" wrong by saying something is ugly.

Anyway, I completely agree with half the list, a fourth of the list I'm kind of meh about, and another fourth of the list I think actually looks pretty awesome. I thought the Kin One looked very attractive. Horrible, crippled OS and impractical hardware design; but, it was nice looking.

Is it just me or was that one of the hardest articles to read with my keyboard kicking up and all the ads? There was no "reader" mode. So irritating I didn't even bother finishing the article.

Yeah I actually got hands on time with a 9981 this past week and that thing is an abomination. I agree with its inclusion on the list.

I disagree with the pot shots at the curve in the write up though, I love my 8330 and how it looked. I also disagree with the 3GS and the sidekick. But I can't disagree about the Porsche design. Not after seeing it in person.

I also liked the look of the Kin...mostly because it was such a ripoff of the Pre/Veer and I adore my WebOS devices.

Strange, I didn't encounter a single ad while reading that article, but of course I read it from my OnePlus One with system-wide host level ad blocking.

Ads really suck, I still wish there was a way to block them with the BB10 browser.

This type of "slide show" article with one image and a three line caption each is the classic slimy ad grab. I mean, it's literally about a 20/80 content to ad ratio on each "slide".

So what I'm saying is, your OPO blocked 80% of the information... loll

Yep. The photo is BBOS7, whereas they seem to describe the one built based on the Q10 (BB10). And we know it's name. Rather laughable how they didn't even get that right. A tech article / news site...

A bit of googling or binging would've surely helped. Or checking CrackBerry...
    :-)

Regardless of whether or not they got the name of the phone right doesn't matter. The Blackberry phone they picture is hideous and deserves to be on the list.

    Agree.
I don't like the P'9981 (pictured in article),
but the P'9983 is quite a looker...

That's why the name does matter. :-)

Yes the P'9983 is a beautiful phone, no argument there, but I don't think anyone's going to really read that and think "oh wow, I won't buy that phone now." How many people buy the Porsche phones anyway? Those that do aren't buying them because of the way they look, they are buying them to own an exclusive device.

Didn't encounter any ads. Was using a G2 Mini with Dolphin browser.

I wonder why 3Gs was included there. It wasn't the prettiest but it wasn't ugly either. It was fragile, though, particularly the back side near the charging port.

It depends on the browser it detects

    Using stock browser

    Top 12 ugliest phones ever?-img_20141026_002334.png

    (shows rhat annoying ad)

Using evolution browser with user agent set to Android

    Top 12 ugliest phones ever?-img_20141026_002454.png

Easier to read on both Android and iOS thus and also that intrusive ad doesn't come
