I was looking into returning back to Blackberry. Unfortunately Shop Blackberry doesn't have the Classic or Passport. Does anyone know of a time frame of when Blackberry will stop supporting those 2 phones? Is it worth it to by from a different party? Just go BB Android?

I appreciate all points of view

Unfortunately BB10 has basically reache EOL except for some future security upgrades aimed at companies with BB10 devices. For a consumer no doubt BlackBerry Android is a great alternative in particular the #KEYone which is being launched this May 31 in North America. good luck

Support is very limited at this point. Personally I'd be disappointed if I bought a brand new phone today and got this level of support.

There is a pretty cool new KEYone coming out now.

What's with this "support" thing.? My BlackBerrys have always worked great and I never had to contact my carrier's or BlackBerry support but maybe I was lucky. Perhaps posters' worries are about no more upgrades but I consider BB10, on my current Z30, to be a mature, completed product, not so much "EOL". IMO, it remains s the best OS out there.

No. You'd be buying a phone that has seen its last update, hasn't seen any real development in almost 3 years, and has desktop software that is already EOL and is not supported on Windows 10.

Plus, the hardware is from 2012/2013.

It's... a little odd. No, BB10 actually isn't "EOL", but there won't be new functionality or new devices. There IS a bit of a niche market in Enterprise for them because they're very easy to administer on BES, and you could make the argument for "security through obscurity"; BB10 never was rooted and there aren't exactly a ton of them around.

Actually it's BlackBerry Android that hasn't been rooted.

Instagram mostly. Twitter but rarely if at all. I'd be mostly on WiFi so anything like that I can use Internet. Mostly it's for texting and email. I have a tablet for IG, fantasy football, etc..

Well even if its seen its last update, and "hasn't had any development in almost 3 years", BB10 sure has been working incredibly well and I am sure it will continue to do so. I realize app-hoarders, though, became frustrated when they started to need Google Playstore. For a user like me ( news, weather, music, messaging, pics, Face-10, Fitbit) BB10 is the perfect OS and my tough Z30 is the ideal phone.

Given how reticent they are to communicate things, the most you'd get out of BlackBerry is probably an update to this page: https://ca.blackberry.com/support/bu...ort-life-cycle
