    Greetings,

there was a post by somebody else in the 83xx forums that went unanswered, and I'm pretty sure that the problem is broader than a 83xx issues, so here it goes:

How to make sure I get the timestamp of the message origin, just like we have in a normal e-mail?

    TIA!

I did a google search for "sms time stamp," both globally and in this site. I did not find any consistent answer. You can do the search yourself. Apparently different carriers time-stamp SMS messages differently, but almost none time-stamp the delivered message with the message-sent time. In the case of BlackBerry, my experience is that SMS messages are stamped with the time of delivery, with the time taken from my device. Someone else may be able to find more info, or know of a third-party SMS app that provides time accuracy.
