I am glad to say that because BlackBerry was not sold, Thor is NOT the receiver of a $55,000,000 Golden Parachute!!!!

He still receives approximately $22 in Severance and Restricted Stock Units. I, for one, am glad that he does not receive $55,600,000.

I don't know if that makes me a ****** for saying that, but I don't feel that the $55,600,000 was warranted. Nor do I feel that decisions would be made with a view with absolutely no other agendas on mind.

But he'll still laugh all the way to the bank with his $22m in chump change...

Wait - is that in Canadian dollars? What's that convert to in USD?

Meh, he's still laughing, either way. Sigh...

It is too much either way. He can retire now anyways, buy a nice house and enjoy the years to come. I doubt any of the people who got fired while he kept burst-pressing that red button could afford that.

He's not getting that either, he's getting his normal salary, annual base pay and the restricted stock units he's entitled to. He wasn't fired, he resigned himself, at least BlackBerry hasn't said otherwise, and they've said they will not comment.

I have no problem with Heins getting 22M. If he got the entire 55M, I wouldn't have had a problem with it either. Are CEO's overpaid? They most certainly are and I have strong doubts whether the contributions to society the average CEO makes is accurately reflected in their salaries. However, the same goes for sports stars and movie stars. I'm also a firm believer in "get what you can" and if someone was willing to fork over 22M or 55M for Heins services, more power to him.
