Thin is overrated. Especially when battery time is the first to be sacrificed for a thinner phone!

Ur right, but it will feel better in the hand and classier, when they make thinner devices, the device could be wilder which will give the ability to maximize the size of the battery .. could you plz publish this and talk more about it..

Device thickness is funny because many people put a giant protective case on the phone.

Personally the z10 is the right thickness for me but my z30 offers far better battery life. Part of that is a tributed to the size among other things.

they are plenty thin right now. Can you imagine how crappy the z10 battery life would be if they shaved another millimeter off the thinness of the device and cut the batter down to 1600 mah

No. Once you put a case on it which most people do, it doesn't matter what a few mm do

Thin is cr*p in my opinion. BlackBerry always feels better in the hand and more stable than many other phones that are either too thick or too thin.

No. Thin is a gimmick. The people who fall for such gimmicks are simpletons, and BlackBerry shouldn't design products based on simpletons' whims.

The Z10 is already 9mm thin. How much thinner do you want? Aside from the battery size already mentioned, at what point is the structural integrity compromised as well?

To be honest I would prefer a thicker phone, something like the thickness of the 9000. That phone just felt perfect in my hands

I don't like too thin phones. Especially not with a QWERTY phone. They need to have a certain thickness in order to being able to type on them conveniently.

Additionally it would cost a lot of money to develop a thin phone with decent battery life and a high end display and unfortunately BlackBerry doesn't have money to burn for experiments like that. They better stick to their core know how while they are trying to strengthen their position in the market.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't sacrifice battery life for a thinner phone.
I'm more of a normal size phone lover, that loves a phone that has a little weight :P

How much thinner would you like the ideal device to be? Right now, something around the thickness of the Z10 hits the sweet spot for me.

z10 is a bit too thin for me. But then if you look at some other phones, like the Sony Z ultra, that one is ridiculously thin.

No, they need to make them thicker by adding a slide out keyboard c/w tool belt like a 9810.

Not at all, actually. Thinness is good for advertising but not necessarily for usability. I work on my phone and want something that fits snugly in my hands while I pound away at the keys with two thumbs.

I agree about the fitment. But id say if its super thin it will allow you to put on an extremely protective two layer case and it still not become a tank and might actually improve the fit in the hand.

I'm fine with the current thickness. It isn't an issue for me. Actually, I wouldn't mind my phones to be a bit thicker if it will mean longer battery life.
