    If I am to pay a nice chunk of my wallet on something I would like it be be bb I always known. However I heard that z10 does not run bb and runs android.

    So for confirmation, does the Z10 run android or a full fledged bb10 is?

    The Z10 runs on the brand new BlackBerry 10 OS. It also has the ability to run certain Android apps.

    The OS is completely blackberry. All based on QNX. Read up on QNX on Wikipedia. You'll find it is quite impressive.

    Additionally the BlackBerry 10 OS has the ability to run certain Android apps using a special virtual machine that runs encapsulated inside blackberry 10.

    So technically it can run Android apps, but I'd call that secondary as far as what blackberry 10 does.

    Any apps written with ics or jellybean in mind wont run.

    Also any apps that contain any android native code won't run either.
    It's amazing how many people try to convert native apps and think they will just run fine on BlackBerry.

    A Lot of apps do work. And soon that will change because they are updating the runtime to 4.1

    But bb10 is awesome in its own. Who cares if it runs android apps

    The main reason to get the Z10 should be the functions it provides, not based on which Android apps it can run on top of the QNX operating system.

    The main things should be its multitasking capabilities, the awesome keyboard, Hub, Peek and Flow, BBM, voice and video chat, and how integrated native apps can be. The fact that it can run Android apps on top of that is a bonus.
