Is there a way to reset my BB without pulling that battery?

Well I am not sure about the other bb but I know with the curve alt key + del + right caps key will reset the bb!

Alt + the right shift (Aa) + del = 8800 series

If you own a Pearl, the keyboard shortucut does not work. I use Soft Reset to do my resets.

will this reset erase all data or is it the same as pulling the battery

It appears that two consecutive Alt + Right caps + DEL does a full reset. One appears to just do the 'power down' function type reset as the power key.
