The built in self test is located at:

Options / Status. Type TEST (or TESST for multitap) to access the Self Test.

Press Menu / Start then select the test you want to run.

    To restore it new conditon:

Options / Security Options/ General Settings. Press Menu / Wipe Handheld.

This will erase all of the data and third party applications. Make sure you have good backup before you do this.

Just use desktop manager to do a backup of your contacts its easier than copying each contact 1 by 1 to the ism card

Yep, all personal data will get wiped. Not sure on the sim question, I've always had cdma.

Remove battery while phone is ON. Wait 30 seconds and reinsert battery.

Or just use Quickpull (application) or Meterberry (application).
