After using Blackberry tether on my Curve to connect to ATT Edge service, I recently installed an internal card in the computer to receive 3G service. The 3G is MUCH faster and more useable. However, this type of service ended having me get another line (for the same $60 I was paying for Blackberry tether), but with another 2 year commitment. I have 5 more days in my 30 day period to cancel this service.

Seeing the new Blackberry Bold, I believe I want to get one of those (wife's line is due for upgrade) and use it for tether.

My question is, will it be as fast and have as good of reception as my internal computer card?

    Thanks for your help!

I personally think anything tethered will be slower than a computer interface card.

This is a good question, but I feel that channeling the internet through my device onto my laptop slows down the process. Having an EDGE or 3G card in the laptop seems more efficient and speedy (if you are looking along those lines)
