In the next few days I am getting an old Panasonic Toughbook CF18 and need to get it mobile internet ready.

My question is this, I could buy a dongle from Samba Mobile and go that way onto the net but as I have a Torch 9800 is it possible to tether via the USB lead and get that way onto the net.
I am on a contract with Orange and have the Blackberry Orange service so push email and the internet is included in the price. There is obviously a fair usage policy which will come into force should I overuse it, which I don't intend to do.

I am going into hospital soon as I am terminally ill so could be in a long time this time and it would be nice to get the laptop up and running tethering with the phone so I get free (so to speak) internet rather than pay for a sim with samba and then airtime.

    Thanks very much

    Hi there!

Yes, it's possible to tether to the 9800 using a USB cable. Just make sure you've got the right data plan for it and you should be good to go!

If you have any problems with it, there's lots of people and articles around here to help get it set up!
