Telkomsel sees 226% rise in BlackBerry data | The Jakarta Post
Indonesias largest mobile phone operator, Telkomsel, recorded a 226 percent surge in data traffic from BlackBerry-related services during Idul Fitri this year, in comparison to last year.

Data traffic from BlackBerry services touched 7.5 gigabytes per second, while data traffic from other broadband services rose to 157 terabytes, more than 55 percent higher than last years figures, according to a press release sent to The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.

Multi-media messages (MMS) also leaped by 169 percent as cell phone users sent 3.2 million messages, in addition to 1.12 billion short text messages (SMS), a figure 25 percent higher than normal.

The operators networks also handled 1.28 billion minutes of voice calls, a 24 percent increase in traffic compared to Idul Fitri celebrations in 2011.

Meanwhile, areas that recorded a significant rise in communications traffic one day after Idul Fitri were Central Java, East Java and West Sumatra.
I wish that report was coming from US Carrier like AT&T, but it's still good to see
........& maybe next year after BB10 comes out we will see AT&T report this kinda increase

Same in Egypt. BBM is the best tool in Eid when networks get congested due to celebrations!

This is where rim needs to draw inspirational marketing from. Places around the world were blackberry leads. Show how they use it and abuse it.
