T-Mobile Confirms Blackberry 10 Availability In The Future | | TmoNewsTmoNews

    by David Beren

As we count down the days till Blackberrys late January showcase, T-Mobile CEO John Legere confirmed to Reuters that his company will carry Blackberry 10 products.

Were extremely optimistic that its going to be a successful product and our business customers are extremely interested in it, Chief Executive John Legere said.

T-Mobile was joined by AT&T and Verizon in announcing their intent to carry BB10 products. For its part, RIM says we can expect six Blackberry 10 devices this year, none of which will be carrier exclusives. You hear that Nokia? HTC? Carrier exclusives are the devil. RIM will unveil the full Blackberry 10 experience on January 30th with a media event in New York. They are expected to release low, mid and high-end devices to cater to every customers need.

In a statement to Fierce Wireless, RIM CMO Frank Boulben stated that the first two devices will feature one all-touch device, the other pairing a touchscreen and keyboard. Both of these devices will be previewed on January 30th.

Boulben also stated that the transition away from Blackberry 7 will take some time, allowing for the company to continue to offer low-end products around the world.

We intend over time as we transition the portfolio to have a full range of devices Boulben said

Anyone excited for Blackberry 10? I am, I really am. I want to see RIM return to glory.

Now the question is if they will be available at the same time as the rest of the carriers or if it's going to be offset. I'm with T-Mobile USA and have been holding my upgrade for these devices. If they don't have them, I MAY consider a new carrier. My 9700 is starting to wear down.

Same here. I've had an upgrade since June (of last year) and have been patiently anxiously waiting for BB10 to release, except I'm with AT&T. My 9800 is still strong, but is in need of new housing.

I'm hoping, no...PRAYING for the N-series to be released before May. T-Mobile just announced they'll be phasing subsidies out in 3-4 months, and I'd like to get a BB10 phone before that happens.

hopefully they carry both the L and N series. In the past T-Mobile has never carried a touchscreen blackberry but this is BB10 so hopefully they finally jump on board.

Whaaat? They carried the 9900. Plus, the 9810 was exclusive to AT&T. Not sure about the 9860.

Also, since the L-series is the flagship device, it'll be released well before the N.

exactly, they carried the 9900 wich is a keyboard phone. I guess I correct my statement because they did carry the 9810 for a while but I was more so referring to a full touchscreen like the 9860 which they had no love for.

In their defense, supporting it is kinda ridiculous. I love Blackberry, but the all touch BBs were garbage.

    Now...BB10 L-series is .

I would have to respectfully disagree. We have a 9860 in our home and its a pretty good device. My fiancee loves it and ditched her android for it. Now I completely agree any previous touchscreen blackberry doesn't have anything on the L-series.

This is good news. My upgrade isn't until May, but I've always had good luck getting them to let me upgrade early, as a loyal Tmo customer bonus. In March it'll be ten uninterrupted years for me with T-Mobile. From 2003 to the beginning of 2007 I owned SideKicks; then it was BlackBerrys, until just recently. They know full well from my record that I like BB, and I'll be tempted to switch carriers to get one. So there's a good chance I'll get the Z10 in February if Tmo has it by then.

I am wondering if the TMO price will be higher, if TMO is financing, instead of subsidizing the phone.

this is what I'm wondering too. Tmo hasn't removed phone subsidy yet but, they are supposed to at the beginning of 2013.
