John Legere screwed up big time. That's what happens when you let a big fat ego get in the way of sound business practice.
The same can be said of John Chen.

If he sides with the customers, he should have push the 10.2.1 update earlier than he should have.
If he sides with the customers, he should have tried to get the z30 on t-mobile.
I doubt he knows anything about BlackBerry other than they don't make as much money as he would like.

Yeah I'm sure that loss of blackberry phones that aren't selling in their stores anyway is going to turn out to be his downfall. He'd better start packing up his office.

Was he wrong in either statement?

He clearly says he values all customers but if BB is taking away the choice from customers, what can he do? People gotta stop looking at it from just BB's eyes. 1% of their total customer base uses a BB.
You don't understand. If he's so worried about the customers, it wouldn't matter the amount. You either care about the customers or just like every other ceo yoh care about profit. He's trying to make himself sound different but he's not

For those of you on TMO that are seriously considering leaving now that BB will no longer be a true partner, but are apprehensive because of early termination fees; I'm pretty sure there are a number of sites dedicated to helping you get out of paying the early termination fee. I remember hearing a friend say that they swapped out their contract and only had to pay a total of $20. I can't remember the site as this conversation was had at a happy hour. Celltradeusa.com?

The negociations could have went like this:
Legere: "What do you have for upcoming devices?"
Chen: "A refreshed Q10 with a belt. And another legacy device."
    Legere: "What about consumer advertising?"
    Chen: "Nothing planned."
    Legere: "Sales training & incentives?"
    Chen: "What is that?"

Legere would be thinking, "Is this guy for real?"

This just proves that BlackBerry killed the deal with TMo, instead of TMo saying they don't want BlackBerry anymore.

Not sure if you're being serious but that will be a concern of a lot of T-Mobile customers.

BlackBerry just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't think it's a concern. Tmobiles whole business model encourages people to bring their own device. It wouldn't be worth the trouble or bad PR for them to try and block BB devices from that model.

So what could BlackBerry have possibly offered T-Mobile in a new agreement? Because on the surface it seems like they don't have much to offer.

Just because T-Mobile will no longer sell BB devices (at least for now) doesn't mean your BB will stop working as it does now once April 25th comes around. It will continue to work just fine so no need to stress over it. It is really people with T-Mobile branded devices that utilize the wifi calling feature that may be more concerned as future OS updates may not include the feature update.
