T-mobile
I'm not a new Blackberry user but I am new to crackberry and registered purely to discuss infor about T-mobile coverage and service. I recently left a cdma provider after 12 years with them because:
- I wanted a GSM provider - occasional international usage
- T-Mobiles customer service is outstanding, even though their coverage isn't that great
- to save a few bucks because I don't use the Enterprise service and I don't have to pay for it with T-mobile
- T-mobile offers the best pre-pay, no contract plan
I live in Little Rock, AR, and I'd like to hear from members who use T-mobile specifically to discuss problems, and to explore research for advice and info re: future possiblities with T-mobile. Right now, Little Rock doesn't even have EDGE coverage - I'm existing using GPRS and it's a slow sacrifice using my pearl on the internet. I'm considering the 8320 just to get Wi-Fi to increase the speed at home and in hot spot areas?
Any similar users out there?
Later,

Hi & welcome.
I've been a T-mobile user for 6 years, BB user for 6 months and I love them. The last time I was in Little Rock, T-Mobile wasn't even there so I'm surprised you have them.
I live in northern Massachusetts. My experience with them over the years is they've expanded coverage considerably over the years (although they could do more) in the area and heading up north towards the white mountains. It's my understanding that they acquired bandwidth from the FCC over the last year so that they can expand to G3 but I don't know what kind of time frame to expect it to roll out. The best advantages are that their plans are the best value and I can take my phone virtually anywhere else in the world. So for now, we live with GPRS also.

Thanks for the reply. I love BB's too - been using one since last summer. Started with the 7130 on Alltel...which seems to have great coverage every where I've been in the U S including some remote areas in Yellowstone and Montana...and loved the phone. Deciding to change to GSM I picked T-Mobile, even though I knew the speed and service would be a little less, their customer srvc is great - it may not be enough to keep me though except if I stay with GSM, I don't really have a better alternative - AT&T may be bigger but I think their attitude toward their customer rivals that of many of the bad airlines.
I'll probably hang on to T-mo for a while to see if they get EDGE here or offer any move to 3G in the near term.
THanks again,
J

Lost in a new land!
Hello all! I'm new to T-Mobile, BB, and Crackberry. Lol! Try that on for size. I own a 7105t. Can anyone tell me if can copy info between phones via bluetooth? Also the Desktop Manager Software doesn't recognize my BB as being connected. Any thoughts for that issue too?

Desktop Manager, etc

Hi,
You should be able to do a lot of the stuff you want to do with the desktop manager - 1st you've got to get it to recognize your phone. Have you tried it with a USB cable? If so, what do you get? Anything? (I've found the cable simpler and easier than bluetooth for a starter.
ONce you get it to recognize your phone you can backup from one and copy from another. If one of the phones isn't a BB, you may have to use another software package for it. I have a Motorola that I wanted to get my contacts from my BB to it and I found a program (with a 10-day free trial) called SyncCell that I used. There are others - just google something like cell phone contact lists or backups or something until you come across something that sounds like a pkg you want to try. It just takes a little time - something that's at a premium this time of year.
Hope that helps.
