As the title says AT&T buys Direct TV for 50 Billion. What do you think is a fair price for BlackBerry with all the other components that makes up BlackBerry? With Billions being shelled out for "virtual" companies, What are your thoughts on the true value of BlackBerry??

This would be a very interesting question for speculation if not for the fact that the market already answered it just a few months ago.

A few months ago the company was top heavy, now with streamlining ,this question needs to be revised/revisited. Additionally we have BBM cross platform and Channels. Launch of Z3 in Indonesia which from preliminary reports seems to be a hit. BES is growing with the advent of BES12, which would mean more flexibility.

Bottom line is what matters... potential doesn't pay the bills. A couple of good quarters is necessary for BlackBerry the company to be worth anything. Right now the only value is in the patents, and that is not as much as it use to be. BBM is growing, but what is the cost of operating the NOC that it requires, against potential profits?

Seeing that Wall Street and the banking industry were largely responsible for the 2008 fiasco, should we really give credence to what they currently view the value to be? As for the cost of NOC and cost of running as it relates to BBM,i would that has been factored in already in terms of viability, hey if whatsapp and line and the like can turn a profit why can't BBM?
