Looks like AT&T will be one of the launch partners for BB10.

Mystery BlackBerry 10 device hits the FCC with AT&T-capable LTE

Very excited as AT&T is my carrier. Hopefully more carriers will be on board at launch, but its nice to know I should be able to get one when they launch.

If history is anything to go by, AT&T will be the last on board.

The FCC papers don't seem to have any mention of AT&T, unless I missed it. I suspect Engadget just means that the phone was tested using LTE and GSM bands supported by AT&T.

Why? AT&T was the first to get the 9800, the 9810, and was one of the first to get the 9900 and 9860. Now I don't know much about their history before that as I didn't really pay much attention. Unless your thinking about software updates, then yes AT&T sucks royally at that.

They were dead last to get the 9900.

Really? I could have sworn they got it around the same time the other carriers did. I must be mistaken then.

Yup... with very lengthy lab testing and their insistence on last minute hardware changes, the 9900 release was delayed by over 2 months compared to other carriers.

If I remember correctly AT&T made the Bold 9900 available November 5, 2011. Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile all had their version of the Bold available by August. I remember waiting to get mine on the AT&T release date only to discover the store I trade with only received 1 and someone purchased it before I got there....Grrrrrrr Had one sent in from another store a couple of days later. I'm hoping that AT&T is working on having the new BB10 devices available as soon after launch as possible. They need to be at the head of the class with this release from RIM...they can't afford more blunders in the cellular market place. They have lost ground the past couple of years.

ATT will take as long as they need to figure out how to charge for any neat features that might be built in (hotspot e.g.). So it might be like buying a car. you can get the "base package", but you dont get electric windows- that costs more, and if you want the leather and moonroof, it's even more.
