The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to sync with the email server through IMAP. That way, true synching is accomplished like you want. Check with your email provider to see if an IMAP connection is available. If so, it will solve your problem.

Do you have OWA access to outlook? The wife has verizon's BIS setup to connect to her office's OWA url.
@Frawg, so your sying if I set up an imap with my gmail from my phone, and from my outlook, I would be able to sync with my bb?
@kdubBB I'm a bit of a noob, what is OWA access?

OWA is short for Outlook Web Access
Most places have it set up if they have an Outlook server. Usually it's setup as http://owa.companywebsitehere.com
Yes, the way you described would work fine. I am synching with gmail and with 2 other email providers that use IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). It is the most efficient way of syncing your outlook files with the BlackBerry without using the Desktop Manager. Just go to all of your email providers and search their site "IMAP Blackberry". It is easy to set up and works well.
Good luck.
nm wrong thread
So what would be the better way? Using owa or the imap sync. What I don't get is how outlook 2003 sets up imap.

Who are you using for email? They should have directions on how to set up outlook.
