I have an unlocked BB. I want to buy a SIM card in Canada and use it for 6 months, and then move to Florida and switch to another SIM card down there. Is there anything I need to do to make the switch - like tell the carrier to remove my email from their system - or can I just pull the one SIM and put in the next?

All you will need is to pop in the SIM into your unlocked phone. Make sure that your device will work on the carrier you choose. They might not have the same frequencies.
