Cell phone carriers charge internet usage fees, which is called data usage. Email, web access, and applications which require connectivity will use data, which the carrier can then charge you for. Carriers provide different packages with different data allowances, or you can pay as you go. (which gets very pricey if you use data more than just a little bit, which if you have a Berry you most likely will.)
