    When I open the media icon it does not matter which media I choose a bar at the bottomof the screen says scanning. How do I stop the scanning?

    You still should be able to view all your files under Media though! It does that to me but I can access mine. Can you not access your files?

    My almost full 8gb card ususally takes about 3 minutes to be fully scanned. Only once did it get stuck while scanning and a battery pull solved it. Does this happen all the time?

    I can still use all of my files in the media icons, I just don't like seeing the scanning bar there.

    Whcih BB do you have? If it has hot-swappable microsd slot, take it out, and do a battery pull. When the device boots back up put the sd card back in. Start media and it may scan. Don't access any files just let it scan it may take a few minutes. After it has fully scanned that bar should go away.
