I found I had duplicate entries for all items in my address book on the handheld, but not in Outlook.
So, I had DM overwrite the BB address book with the Outlook one.
    Still, I had duplicates.
So I went to Backup/Restore and cleared the Address Book database.
Now, I open Address Book and one copy of all the contacts are still there!
If I go to Options, I find the "number of entries" to be zero.

I can't seem to find where this database is that is holding a unsyncable copy of my contacts. Ideas?

Are they on your sim card?
Have you tried a battery pull?

They are not on the SIM card.
We're talking about ~6000 full entries (name, phone, fax, address, etc).
I've tried a soft reset and a 30 second battery pull after clearing the address book.

Did you ever solve this? I'm having the same problem... I wipe the address book using DM, it says there is nothing there both on the device and in Desktop Manager yet there is still another copy of the address book remaining and when I do an enterprise activation it repopulates a second copy.

    Let me know.
