A month or so ago I was told that there were 2 new BB devices to be released for the GSM market in the US. I was never able to get more of a confirmation other than the 9700... but all I get is a smile every time I ask about it. Is it a Storm, Dakota, or something else, I don't know, but there is something being planned and its not the 8520. Guess we will just have to wait and see....
Well speaking to my vodafone guy here in London UK...when i pressed him for more info he gave me a wry smile...OS6 is being developed and is going to be huge...much better browser amongst other goodies...he works for Vodafone network ops so said that they have seen RIMs roadmap.
He also said a Storm3 is being worked on...the so called touchscreen/keyboard hybrid is also in development.
Anyhow dont take my word for 110% certainty as im only finding out myself from him.
The best person to ask is really Crucial xtreme who i think works for RIM but i dont think he can give too much away as hes probably under some tight NDA's etc.
Essex - CDMA tour2 (wifi, trackpad, improved camera, possible orientation sensor)
Striker - 9100 pearl2 (3G, trackpad)
Dakota - Bold sized touch screen+qwerty device
Mr. T - Slider
Atlas - 9700 shaped, 8900 sized, bold for Asian markets
Aries - 8530 (CDMA 8520)
Some have said RIM has 16 device launches planed for 2010. Also OS 5.0 is coming (really here already) this year. A new browser (probably webkit based) and flash support should be coming 2010 or 2011. Future OS versions (5.1, 5.2/6.0) should bring other improvements.
Facebook 2.0 is coming, and new versions of BIS should be released next year as well. There are also rumors of themes coming to app world and rumors of a RIM developed twitter application.

I'd assume that would be the 9700 and maybe the 9500 for either canada or uk but that's just a guess
