has anyone heard anything new on the storm 2???
Not the BB 9900 Pluto(which looks like it will be awesome), but the successor to the BB Storm. I've found a lot of articles but most of them were from last year. Does anyone have any updated info??

There were rumors of the Storm 9520, but haven't heard anymore about it.

Has it actually been confirmed that it was coming out, let alone Rogers? I could've sworn I saw a blog here on CB that it was not coming out to Rogers.

I doubt that there would be info out there for the Storm 2 so close to the launch of the original.

The original Storm the 9530/9500 were launched in December I think? But just because it was just released lately doesn't mean RIM hasn't already started talking about the next generation Storm. I don't think they ever sleep.

I bet you since after production of the Storm began RIM has been busy planning the Storm 2. I am sure they looked at everything on the Storm and have looked at ways to improve hardware etc. I am very sure RIM has/is paying attention to all the quality issues that people complained about with the storm.

I will take a good guess and say that the Storm 2 will be a pretty solid device.

What I'm wondering is if the clickable touch screen will be back. The whole clickable screen may just bring about too many issues with it breaking down and all that. The Storm 2 might very well have a screen like the iPhone.

I think that would be a pretty good idea, I had lots of people complain about the whole screen click. I myself don't like and I would rather have the iPhone type screen. But hopefully if they do do it like that, it'll be a solid and not break easy.

I didn't mind the click. Liked it just as much if not more than the iPhone's simple touch.

Yeah I like the iPhone simple touch better though. It's easy, just with the little touch of the finger.

Maybe they will have two touch phones, one with surepress, and they other with an iphone-like screen

I don't know if I would consider the 9520 to be the Storm 2 just because of the specs are different. I would expect a true storm 2 to be different in more ways than that.

I seriously doubt they are going to get rid of Surepress. It was something with which RIM differentiated the Storm from other touchscreen smartphones. And quite frankly, I liked it when I tried out the phone.

So is this going to be just a GSM version of the current Storm or a newer model?

i work for rogers and apparently the release date for storm is later this year (q4)...
storm 2 sounds doubtful as the storm 1 (can we call it that?) was just released!!
