I know I need to use the Windows "Stop Device" function when I unplug a USB thumb drive, to reduce the risk of data corruption. Is there anything similar when unplugging a Blackberry? Mine doesn't show up in the stop device list but when I unplug it I do get the same warning tone I'd get if pulling out a thumb drive improperly.

If you have "mass storage enabled" you should use the stop device function. It sounds as though you must have it enabled since you are getting the message when you unplug the BB. (It should show up as a separate drive under My Computer. If you right click on it, you should get the option to "eject" it.

Man, just unplug it.

Write or read something from it, give it a couple of seconds after that and just unplug it.

I've never had that come up for my BlackBerry. When its done doing its thing, and it's back to the normal screen on my BlackBerry I just disconnect it.
