Help, my phone just got stolen few days ago, and today i bought a new blackberry. And so i heard if we had already set an account for blackberry id, all of our contacts and pin number will be transferred to the new device. Is this true?

However, i found out that the thief is now using my phone (with my blackberry id still turned on) and i cannot use my blackberry ID. Since all i got on my new bb device is "sorry, that blackberry id is already being use"

What can i do now? All of my clients and friends pin number are there and i never backup it anywhere else ;'(

Bbm should give you an option to switch device. Maybe you can log into bbid from the computer and change the password first before logging in from the new phone.

Did you have BlackBerry Protect enabled?
If so, you could maybe locate the location of the thief!

    Welcome to the forums!

Really!? Great! Tell the police to go find your phone then! Log to BlackBerry Protect and grab his location!

How stupid of him to use your BBID!

Something is not quite right. All you need to do is sign in with your BlackBerry ID and it will prompt you to migrate your BBM contacts from the old device to the new device.

Are you sure you weren't trying to 'create' a new BlackBerry ID and not 'Sign in' to BlackBerry ID?

If it turns out you were trying to sign in and not create the same blackberry ID try resetting it here BlackBerry ID - BlackBerry Login - Sign In to Apps & Services - US

I think the stolen device is an HP as suggested by the thread title.

Thank you for the very quick reply

Sadly, im not even sure if i did ever install blackberry protect, and if i do, im certain i never opened that apps

I already did everything i could think of, like purposedly clicking on "forgot my password" asking for a reset password, and i did able to change my password. But still it does not able to handover the ownership of that blackberry ID to me.

Are there some ways to force block or force logout that thief who are using my blackberry ID? Like report this ID as stolen maybe?

Sorry i think i will double post here. Another note: my old stolen phone is blackberry Bold 9790. And my new blackberry phone is 9720. But i just realize that i may enter the wrong email address.

I have 2 email address (2 diff blackberry ID), to elaborate, my hotmail account is the one that got stolen. My second one is gmail account, which is for my blackberry ID on my samsung note 2.

But i think i entered my gmail account into the new phone that i bought.(which is still being use in my samsung) And now it keep showing this message that said "cannot set up bbm" and i cannot change that
