There's a deal where I can buy a sprint bold 9930 for 300. I'm wondering if it is ships unlocked or not, because I'm thinking to use it on tmobile with EDGE(selling my htc sensation for 350 for that).

You sure? Because I knew the bold 9650 was ship unlocked. Now I'm wondering if the 9930 does or not too.

Almost positive because from what I was told, I would have to call Sprint to get it unlocked, and I have read post of people traveling overseas with a Sprint 9930 and they were not able to use it because it was not unlocked.

Pay the extra $200 and get a T-Mo phone. Such a waste of a phone running EDGE on the fastest 3G network. EDGE sucks, I've been on a Storm 2 on ATT and dealt with it for 6 month and I am so sick of it.

Listen to Blacklac, I too made this mistake 2 years ago, couldn't wait for the Storm 2 to come to my provider, so bought a Verizon and unlocked it. I'm so sick of being stuck on edge. But not for much longer, just got my 9860, now waiting for it to come to life. I've switched to Telus and have to wait for my Fido number to be released, they said 5 minutes to 48 hours...I'll get a text when it's done, I can hardly wait to be on 4g and bridged to my Playbook...oh the joy that awaits

CDMA devices without a roaming sim slot cannot be unlocked. Any carrier branded GSM phone won't be shipped unlocked.

Edit: Last I checked, carrier's are falsely advertising 4G, when their networks are still, in reality, 3G.
