I have a BB Bold and have looked back at older messages about spam and that the BBs don't have a way to mark it when you delete it.

Any progress on that front? Does RIM know that this is a problem?

rim probably knows its a problem but it doesn't exist currently accept with the gmail plugin on gmail

Fix your SPAM problem at the email server end, not at the client end. That's where the problem needs to be resolved. Fix it at the server and you won't have to worry about it getting to your BB or other email client. Simple as that... This is going to be either a ISP issue or a mail server host issue. Talk to them about their lax antiSPAM practices.
