i have the 8900 os 5.0.0.238. and every-time im typing and push the space bar it adds a period. it is getting quite annoying i only push it once any suggestions?

You are holding it down too long. Pressing the spacebar twice is designed to insert a period. It's a convenience feature. You can tweak the key repeat rate.
