For the past hour my phone's reception bars have been red and say SOS. I thought it was maybe a service thing, but it's been kinda long yeah? I tried a battery pull and all that but still no luck. It also says "Initialization Failed" Does anyone know what's up or how to get my phone back in working order?!
That would be the next in troubleshooting. Trying your SIM in another phone on the same network, or vice versa. If your SIM is bad, just ask TMO for a new one.

Oohh does it have to be the same network? Cuz then I'm screwed! lol
just call tmobile or go to a store to have your sim card replaced if it is faulty they will replace it free of charge you will lose all of your contacts that were on your sim so try to hook up to dm and do a backup and restore so you can save some of your stuff
I saw this on my phone for the first time a few days ago. I was in a back hallway at work but when I left that area it went away. Maybe it just means there isn't a signal or something??? I didn't do anything special and it went away on its own.
It was a problem with the sim card. Thank you guys for suggesting I go to the store cuz that's just what I did! The TMo guy said it happens to old sims eventually. I had to pay $20 for a new one. Luckily all my contacts were stored on my phone, which leads to my next question...
Is there a way to copy all my contacts from the phone to my sim?
You can but it could be very tedious. You have to go to your address book, press menu and view the contact. Then press menu and choose copy to sim phone book. You would have to do this for each contact. There is no way to copy all contacts to the sim card at the same time.
