some wifi questions
Hi all, I have the wifi setup en my bb,
If the wifi goes on, I mean, the logo turns on automaticly when I get homr, all of my browsing goes via wifi?
If a bb doesn't have bis, I cannot use wifi?
Is wifi faster than edge?
Leaving the wifi on, drains my battery?
Thanks and sorry for my ignorance

Any browsing doesn't automatically switch to WiFi. You have to go to Options > Browser Config > and change the browser to the Hotspot Browser.
If a BB doesn't use BIS, you CAN use WiFi for internet browsing, but not for email or BBM.
WiFi is faster than EDGE assuming it's not a simple home network type thing and has 1000 users on it.
Yes, leaving WiFi on can drain your battery.

i own a 8900 with bis, but my wife own a 8320 without bis, when she is at home or work, she has wifi, she can navigate the internet freely but what i really want is to be in touch with her with some kind of chat, the gtalk doesn't work, as well as the msn and the bbm, is there another way that we can chat, she on wifi and me with bis?

I guess you could go to m.ebuddy.com or some other online instant messaging site but to be in touch with her properply she'd need BIS so she can use either the Blackberry Messenger or Windows Live Messenger apps
Other than that she's limited to whatever she can manage on the internet so probably she could sign in at m.ebuddy.com to a windows live account and you could sign in the windows live messenger app.
Failing that, there's always good old fashioned sms messaging.

Understood, thanks a lot.

Palringo, IM+, instango, BeeJive all work perfectly over WiFi
