He won't kill BBM for a long time. Not while it's pulling in all those lucrative Sticker sales, anyways.
Ooooooo stickers!!!!

Why do you think Chen will pull the plug on BBM?
BBM is essentially it's own company, with its own CEO. In fact the licensing deal with Emtek may be worth a lot of money to BlackBerry.
Please do your research...

BBM is still very popular in certain regions of the world. They'd be foolish to shut it down if there is still a large user base and potential to monetize it.

Love BBM!
Chen is locked into a BBM contract with Emtek for six years, so no.

BBM just expanded their features to ios and Android supposedly. Now if only my ios BBM would stop double posting everything I say to friends in convos, it would be as perfect as it is in BBOS, and always has been.

I just hope they don't end up letting the BB10 version lag behind the Android version.

Arguably it already does.
Bla1ze speaking the truth. BlackBerry, err..I mean BBM, err... I mean Emtek are interested in iOS and Android users.

BBOS... is probably still a good size userbase in the key markets (or market) where they are still using BBM. BB10 userbase... I bet that even where BlackBerry was able to sell some BB10 devcies, that BBM wasn't all that popular. And at this point I expect the userbase for BB10 with BBM is pretty small - few million at best. By this time next year..... But Chen said they are committed so there is no need to worry.
If anyone is still using BB10 in 2018... they'll probably have another reason to be unhappy.
