    *sigh*

So many people completely overlook the Amazon Appstore. Maybe it's a U.S. thing.

BB10 has a runtime that can be improved to the point where it could run 'first tier' Android apps, just not Google ones.
Most app developers are overlooking the Amazon store...

A third party can develop the runtime.
Not on BB10 they can't. As long as BB owns the OS, their Google license prevents that OS from being released with an Android Runtime. Before they signed that license, sure, they could have updated it or paid/let someone else update it, but having signed the license, they agreed to abide by those restrictions, and can get sued for violating them.

Plus aren't the majority of the apps in google play require google services to run, which the android run time does not cover?

Probably Samsung but it would be a utopia if it was Google, particularly nowadays

Yes a BlackBerry with real development $$ would be awesome.

The amazon app store is so bad it lacks many of the apps in generic third party app stores.

If ppl r hell bent on 'seeing' a hypothetical possibility of another bb10 phone with Android apps support, this cud b the path -

Bb10 Os on a Chinese device, a GPlay services alternative - microG, a compatible Android fork runtime - Yun Os/ alien dalvik.
