Too little, too late I'm afraid. How can they hope to compete with the likes of Smarties and M&Ms with this? While RIM is trapped in the stone age with its single-coloured candy, the rest of the industry is already way ahead with innovative colours (have you seen the latest orange Smarties? They're absolutely beautiful!) and features like a peanut in the center. RIM's days are numbered if they hope this will turn their fortunes around in the candy industry.

No way they can compete against peanuts.

+1 - and another thing, these candies shoulda been released 2 years ago. Apple and Android have had candies since 09. Wake up RIM!

All they have to do is get Spielberg to help out. Get some damn alien to eat them onscreen, and they'll be flying off the shelves.

    Well, not literally.

Though that would be kinda cool.

Oh. Apple says there's an app for that.

    Stupid Apple.

Those fancy new candies have more features, and colors, and such, BUT the flavor life of the RIM candies is MUCH MUCH longer, and the package is much more secure!

Pfft. That packaging looks just like the packaging from three years ago. It's just a re-hash of their old packaging.

What's the point of long flavour life if you open a fresh pack every morning for breakfast?

Also, the packaging is more secure, I'll give you that. M&Ms have taken a lot of flack in the news lately about their flimsy packaging that causes major safety and security issues when the packaging opens unintentionally and people slip and fall on the little candies. However, that hasn't stopped a lot of corporate offices from bringing in vending machines that sell non-RIM candies, an area where they once had a stranglehold on. In fact, RIM is considering selling vending machines that allow candy administrators to put in Smarties, M&Ms and other competing brands.

There are some countries threatening to ban the sale of the candy to its citizens unless RIM gives them access to the secret formula so they can monitor the calories.

I hear RIM is in negotiations to set up overseas candy factories in these countries but still keep the formula to themselves.

See this is what we've been preaching. I bet you have to get those candies for a certain price from a certain supplier and you cannot even customize them. I mean with the Android Candies you can pick the flavoring, you can pick the shell, if you want anything special inside. Heck you can even put candies in a candy. We call those "dual core candies". I mean you are stuck with one little package of the same candies, 5 different colors, all packaged as one color and sold everywhere. I bet they are buy one get one free to. The nice thing is though if you buy you candies from Apple you can customize them for free. Sure it's the same candies with the two different coatings, a black one and a white one, but you can have what every you want engraved on them. And WinMo, they lack basic features in the candies. Like the filling it self. Sure it looks pretty and it looks like every other candy but when you dig into it's just just empty. And Nokia sold their candy plant to WinMo's candy plant so the nokia candies that are out there are getting fewer and farther between, But man they sure do taste good when you get them....

RIM candies taste great to start with and therefore don't need customizing. And the flavor lasts a LONG time without having to eat more. Sure, Android Candies look really cool with their flashy colors and their funky flavor combinations, but RIM candies are for people who are serious about candy, and actually like to taste what they eat.

Candies are for eating, not for looking at. Maybe those Android kids will figure that out when they grow up.
