Again, most of them really do. You have the same malware store as every other Android user. One app may work of your device, but not on my tablet, or 2.3.3 Android device (whatsapp for instance), so app incompatibility--a foreign concept for Apple users.
Here is the iOS version needed to run WhatsApp

So I just learned BBOS10 will be dead by the end of 2016.-screenshot_20160312-103757.jpg
You can clearly see you need 6.0 which was released in September 2013.

According to WhatsApp FAQ you only need android 2.1, which was released in October 2009.
    https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/android/21166563

But hey, let's not have facts ruin a good story. Facebook is a similar story.

Your phone needs just like any other Android phone an octa core with 4 gigs of mem to run a LITTLE smooth (don't believe me, get an Samsung Galaxy 1).
I think you're referring to the heavy overlays OEMs use on Android. My android phones run AOSP made by 5 people in a bedroom and run far smoother than the bogged down stuff. Current phone has 2 gig ram and runs smoother and gets far better battery life than it ever has done.

Your Android NEEDS an anti virus to run 24/7.
False. Dont install the app that downloaded from pornhub and you'll be fine. I check now and again and have had zero virus'.

Your updates are utterly awful as you have to wait (just like everyone else) not only for Google but also for your brand to issue the update. Thanks to the horrible execution of Android, most people still run Jelly Bean or KitKat (70%). Only 1.2% of all Android users gets to enjoy 6.0 so far.
Already been brought up, you are correct though.

Besides that Apple stays the number one favorite platform for developers, it has more apps available than Android currently--technically Android has more, but as I said, it's not available on every device plus the store is 95% copied crap, fake apps, scams, or malware (remember when BBM for Android was about to launch, it went all smooth on iOS (as expected) on Google Play we had 1 million scammy copies).
And even being the number 1 platform still has its own fair share of terrible apps.

In the end Android is nothing more than a cheap knock-off of iOS, which explains why it is so horribly insecure and executed. But again, not saying it's a bad thing, Facebook is horribly executed yet very popular.
    Fair enough.

Hopefully the BlackBerry10 OS and the HUB will have relevance into 2017 and on.

But now that an Ending has been confirmed, perhaps BlackBerry will honor the BlackBerry Loyal by discounting the price on the PPSE and other BlackBerry10 devices making the remaining stock more accessible to purchase.

And perhaps John Chen will use that as a Goodwill Initiative, showing present and future consumers that BlackBerry appreciates those who have and will continue to support their brand.

Utilizing this as a opportunity to exercise a form of Good Business Sense, Business Philosophy and Practices, that might have been unseen or overlooked in the past.

    "Or not...."

Doubt there will be any discount offered by BB beyond the normal sales. A goodwill gesture towards its loyal base probably does not make financial sense. If there is any kind of BB10 fire sale, it would most likely come from carriers trying to unload stock perhaps. I know in Canada we got many Q5's out that way, as prepaid phones. Maybe the Classic will show up as one of these somewhere?

December 2016, anything can happen before then. What if BlackBerry works on BBOS? What if WhatsApp go back on their words?

    Facts:
My Nexus 6 does not need 4 gigs of memory to run smoothly. Fastest device I have ever owned.
No malware on my device, also no antivirus on my device. Not necessary.
The Play Store is NOT "95% copied crap, fake apps, scams, or malware".

It is true that the number of devices and older versions out there are large. Somehow, though, it remains the #1 OS. That tells me that your "facts" are not getting in the way of people enjoying the experience.

Notice I didn't have to exaggerate in order to get my point across.

Guys I just rooted my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and installed Android 6.0 (AOSP) on it (previously 4.4.1 by samsung), it is actually smooth for a change. I don't know how this is possible, anyway It's gonna be the PRIV, hopefully an 6.0 update will come soon.

It's possible because the Android team had made quite some progress since 4.4!

"Dead" depends on the kind of updates that will come IMO. If they are patches and security fixes, I call that a dead OS because further development will have stopped. If there new features coming, then I agree that it is nowhere near "Dead". But, I had thought Chen stated only security fixes were planned in 2016, beyond that though...?

I also consider Samsung not capable of making decent software oems. I've tried to return this slow device for years now, but I guess all it needed was stock Android.

    Samsung are kings of bloat.

If you had a Nexus you'd probably feel much better about this Android thing.

I installed, and works great and all, but I can't get Google Play to work. It either crashes when installed from downloads. Doesn't exist in the pico package, and all of android is laggy with the stock package, and it says google play services stopped working.

BB10 isn't dead but no further handsets and no further development is essentially death. BB10 browser for example needed an update months ago and nothing. It's terrible.

Google abandoned marshmallow. Their Beta N is very polished. Just wish louks realises that BlackBerry would be better off delivering N.

    Heck even 6.1 didn't come.

Google hasn't abandoned Marshmallow. It just hasn't really needed much in the way of updates to that version. Furthermore, Google isn't in the habit of abandoning any OS versions. Most people just don't notice them because they're typically looking towards the next major version. Lollipop received an update as recently as 2 months ago. And more, Gingerbread has been updated 4 years after its inception (name any other mobile platform that continues support that long).

Whether carriers and OEMs follow up with them, that's a different story.

You went to the iphone. Cost of those is fairly steep, I no longer wish to spend that kind of money on a phone and that's why the Leap fits me perfectly (mind you still not a touch screen fan). The Leap's performance is respectable and I like the Hub which is so much more ergonomic by the way of its function versus anything else.
Mind you I've never given Apple a fair shake and still refuse to go down that path.
