I ordered my BB Storm Sunday at my local mall Verizon Wireless dealer. The gentlemen I talked with was informative and helpful and I can't wait for the phone to get to my house. This will be my first BB and I can't wait to actually use it for a week or two and see what all the fuss is about :P. I was deciding over the Storm and the Curve but in the end I liked the Storms sure-type in portrait mode and the screen felt "right" to me. I've heard lots of bad things about the touch screen but personally I loved how it felt when I tried it. The Curve is a nice BB and was good to type on but I guess I wanted the latest new phone :P. I'm ecstatic to have the Fedex guy show up at my house any day now with that box. I got Visual Voicemail with it and the $30 BB data plan to go with it. I was thinking of getting a skin for it and a holster as well. I don't know how my managers would feel about me having a storm on a holster at my work (I work for Apple :P) We'll see though.

The Storm is my first BB too. I am loving it. I liked my Berry so much I got my wife a pink Pearl. Now she is hooked. I hope you really enjoy your Storm.

Trust me once you get the Crackberry Addiction, you will not want any other phone. **** I loved my curve soo much that I bought the Bold and will not go to any other phone at all because I am addicted to the bb os now...

Both my mom and my sister are using Blackberry 8110 Pearls even though they need to update the os soon....

LOL, carrying a BB Storm when you work at Apple... is that like drinking a Pepsi when you work for Coca Cola?

Haha yeah pretty much. I KNOW I'm going to get flamed for it so bad for a good week from everyone I work with. Oh well I love verizon's network and I would not switch at all. I'm just so anxious at this point to get the thing in my hands and start playing with it and get used to typing on it (big texter).

Haha. I always wondered things like that. I'm like is there any chance that the customer service personnel are using a different carriers phone other than they one they're trying to sell?! It's funny.

I was gonna say that. The wife works at Vodafone and got to bring the storm home a couple of weeks ago. After 10 minutes playing with it, I kinda had enough, put it back in the box and carried on with my Bold.

I don't particularly like the Storm. Touchscreen to me seems like a little over-rated gimmick... maybe it was the OS that was shipped with that particular phone, but it didn't grab me. To me the phone felt awkward, slow, and rather "meh"... it just didn't feel like anything special.... I felt the same way about the iPhone as well... Touchscreen to me just seems like a fad which isn't quite there yet. I don't even think touchscreen computer monitors are that great, such a feature in Windows 7 will seem like a gimmick as well to me.

But I suppose I'm a sucker for good old classic buttons, a full QWERTY keyboard and the sweet chunky feel of my Bold. It may quite possibly be the future... but I'm not jumping on that bandwagon.... in my somewhat humble opinion, the future doesn't have my finger prints and smudges all over it!

I have to agree with the touchscreen thing i think. I just bought my first blackberry on Monday (8900 curve) previously I had the LG viewty and I just wanted to have buttons back which is why I didnt go for the Storm. Was close between new Curve and the Bold though.

I just wanted to say its awesome that even though you work for Apple you don't buy into the hype machine and bought the better product. I bet you understand that better than most.

I believe they stated they were Verizon customers.. Bold not a choice. I am waiting for the Bold on Verizon to jump on the BB train, although the Curve is tempting.

Thanks kramed, I personally like the iPhone BUT there are major things wrong with it that tick me off. No landscape txting/email, no MMS, no turn by turn voice GPS nav, not on verizon network ( not apple's fault but still a downfall imo), no flash for camera, no video recording, no voice dialing, no stereo bluetooth, no removable battery. I think that's about it :P. I would have tried out the Bold but yet again I would have to switch services cause it's not offered on the Verizon Wireless network . But to everyone FYI, my phone came in today!! I need to open her up and give her a test run on the CB forums :P. TTYS guys/gals!
