I am planning on getting a Blackberry and have been researching (which is why I am on this site). What I have figured is that you need Desktop Mananger to upload updates and other things to your BB. I know you can download some programs directly, but without Desktop Manager you can't upgrade your OS.

So what do people do if they don't have a PC and just a Mac? I have both so I should be fine...but I use my laptop (Mac) way more 'cause of the wireless-ness and my PC sounds like a jet engine (I like to make sure my processor is cool).

Is there no Mac Desktop Manager? And will there ever be?

It seems you can use a program called PocketMac for the blackberry to do what you want.

PocketMac For BlackBerry | Call Toll Free 1-866-POCK-MAC

correct me if I'm wrong, Im not a Mac user.

I don't think pocket mac supports updating the OS

I have a mac but also a pc..

pocket mac didn't really work all that well to be honest..

for syncing I use marks missing sync which costs money but gets the job done..

as for OS updates to windows I go
