    FACT:
9900 and 9930 is the new BOLD Touch
    9300 is the Curve 3G
    9800 is the Torch

    Rumor numbers floating around:
    9350/60/70
    9810/50/60

one could think that these belong to the Next-Gen Curve and the Torch 2. But where is the Storm 3, Storm lineup is 9530/9550 already a 9xxx number. Also if they are the Next-Gen Curve and Torch 2 why are there three numbers?? I can see a CDMA and HSPA version on each but again the third????

RIM really needs to shed some light on all these devices, its not like they are a secret anymore.

What you would consider as the Storm 3, is also known as the 9850.

There are 4 different screen sizes associated with the new phone simulators. That is what tells you which phone will be what model.

    Bold 9900/9930 2.8" 640 X 480 287 pixels
    Pearl 9360 2.44 480 X 360 245 pixels
    Torch 2 9810 3.2 640 X 480 253 pixels
    Monaco 9850 3.7 800 X 480 253 pixels

Bold, Pearl and Torch 2 have 4.3 aspect ratio.
The Monaco has a 15.9 aspect ratio.

Not really - the Monaco will be a touch-only phone and the successor to the Storm line, while the Torch and Torch 2 are touch screen w/ slider keyboard. Not to hijack the thread, but it will be very telling to see how well the Monaco does when it hits. Word is that a good touch-only option is what's missing in the BB line, so this should start to show if RIM really understands what touch-only consumers are looking for.

Actually no. The Storm like and the Monaco/Monza line are actually different. The tech from the Storm series Morpheus & became the Torch line. The tech for the Touch line is different.

If they are releasing a new Pearl this is the first anyone has heard of it. it wasn't even in the RoadMap that CB posted back at the beginning of the year.

ya the Storm and Torch are two different models. I can see them changing the name of the Storm 3, due to the bad rep that the storm line had/has but changing it to Torch makes no since...maybe Torch Touch??

There are rumors out there and leaked lineup sheets that show the BB Torch 9850/9860 which is the new Monaco/Monza all touch series. The Torch2 is going to be labeled the Torch 9810. But there are reports that the Torch 9850/9860 will be labeled the Volt 9850, but nothing is official. Most people in the know, think that RIM wanted to do away with the Storm name due to the bad publicity that it received.

The final name of the 9850/9860 could be anything. We know that we're talking about the 3.7" touch screen phone though. RIM is smart to get rid of the Storm name. It would only bring up bad memories for a lot of people. It's best to let that name go.
