    Spent nearly an hour on the phone with RIM Tuesday, as slowly they admitted there was a problem. First no, then it was a small localized one, then bigger and bigger. Told them it was well known on CrackBerry, to which they said they aren't affiliated. Doh! I suggested they start looking, so they can be up to speed on their own outages. Knowledge is half the battle.

    It was a WiFi BlackBerry Outage, and even then it did not affect all devices, BIS or BES.

    That was one weird outage. Worked fine on WiFi, but even with WiFi disabled and none to be found, I had no data.

    The fact that there have been more outages in the last 4 months than since I had my first Pearl makes me really wonder how reliable RIM really is.

    With all the reports of this recent "outage" I have not had one single issue with
    BIS or WiFi at all.

    As a matter of fact, I saw no loss of service in the last three reported "outages" Not one.

    I can say I did, even though they say that non WiFi wasn't affected with this last one. I had a lot of failed deliveries. Not as bad as the last outage though.

    No outage for me either. I've had my Bold for about 1.5 years and only experienced 1 outage with my device. I guess I have been lucky.

    I only had one outage recently and that's the one they announced. I use WIFI a lot and haven't lost it at all in the last "allegedly" reported outages. Do I believe some people had problems yes but if you check the forums people report BIS outages daily. Some of it is unfortunately users not knowing what's going on and some is carrier problems.

    I noticed it going out on my 9550. I thought it was weird because my wife's 9530 was working fine.

    They should have sent a message to ALL Blackberry users to notify them that some users may have connectivity problems. Of course, the people affected probably wouldn't have gotten it...

    Which would only serve to incite those completely unaffected by the outage and unnecessarily ding RIM's image.
