It could be their first step towards making their M2M vision come true and truly shake up the market, but as of right now and BlackBerry's current track record, I don't think they should. However it could be interesting to see what they come up with in the future, and I don't think they should abandon the idea all together.

I don't think so. I have seen one smartwatch on Metro (free newspaper) before. The smartwatch looks like a toy.

Completely off topic, but if you wanna buy one, I wouldn't mind selling one of mine.

16gb, Wi-Fi only, barely used, in pristine condition and it comes with a case and the rapid charging dock. I'd sell it for $100 shipped.

I have no real interest in a smartwatch because my eyesight is starting to go downhill. About 12 years ago, I invested in a really nice watch -- an Omega Constellation -- and I can barely read the date on the thing now. I need bigger than a watch. In fact, I hope the rumored Galaxy Note 12 tablet comes in an LTE version.

They should make one. If not, it's just one more thing the BlackBerry ecosystem will be lacking, and one more reason consumers will look elsewhere.

As for charging.. I believe it's supposed to go around a week on a single charge.

I don't think there is much of a market for them. There are more important things for BlackBerry to be focusing on without looking into a "smart watch."

Apple and Samsung however have done well enough that they can afford to make stupid crap and not really matter. Just my 2 cents.

There was a poll done somewhere asking people if they would buy a smartwatch. 30% said yes.

Not official, mind you, but it shows that there are people out there who would use that "stupid crap".
