It would not affect BlackBerry, OS X, iOS, Linux, Android, Windows Phone. It is desktop Windows malware. http://blog.avast.com/2012/10/11/dor...ers-computers/

Why let the facts get in the way?
And since when did BlackBerrys (ex. Verizon and a few other devices) run Skype anyway?

Thought All Verizon and O2 BBs had access to skype? Or were able to use it.

That is correct. However, this particular malware only affects desktop Windows. The malware uses .exe (Windows Executable File).

Which, of course, has nothing to do with BlackBerrys, which is the premise of he thread.

"Should Blackberry drop SKYPE due to Malware?" is misleading at best and uninformed.

Well, anyway, this won't last ... since Sype is ditching P2P model and goes MS Messenger powered ... so a rebuild is imminent.

Are you part of the anti RIM global conspiracy?
Or just didn't read the article?

To make it clear, the Dorkbot variant is a trojan. The primary reason to associate with "Skype" appears to be use of the name as an inducement for target victims to click on a malicious link in an email, causing installation to their PC. Classic social engineering.

Blackberry would 1st have to have Skype in order for them to drop it......
...No Skype for Sprint, TMobile, AT&T, US CELL.
...And last time I checked RIM's VZ model can't even support the video chat feature on Skype.
