I have let my email in one account build up to 17000. Yes 17 thousand. I can deleted individual messages, but if I try to search and delete a bunch of message - the device freezes. My other email accounts are fine. I can use "delete prior" and its fine.
The other issue is FB is freezing when I try to use "delete prior"
Am I really going to have to delete 17000 messages one by one?
Your problems are probably caused by setting your BlackBerry email to keep messages forever. Having 17,000 emails on the server shouldn't result in 17,000 emails on a mobile device. Just set the Blackberry to retain messages for 60 days or so.

JBs below answer is right on the money. Log into your computer and delete all the emails and set your BB to keep messages like he said, I keep mine for 30 days and save the important ones in the save folder.
