Is there a way to send a link in the conversation without auto converting to smilies?

It doesn't convert to smileys for me when I copy and paste a link, but that's not usually how I share a link. In the browser, when you're on the page you want to share, choose BBM, choose contact, hit send. Done, and you don't have to leave the page you're on. When your contact replies, you get a toastie. Yum!

If you copy the whole link from a website I think it realizes that and doesn't make it a smiley. I've sent many links over and haven't had this problem

That's what I thought too until my recipient told me there were smilies on her side...
Btw, my recipient uses BBM on iphone...I wonder does this have anything to do with BBM on iphone (it maybe just be not as good as BBM on a BlackBerry :P).
