I have Googled this and also searched the forums, but so far haven't found what I'm looking for.

Basically, when the successor to the Bold comes out (or a 3G Curve with trackpad), I'm going to upgrade my Blackberry. This will most likely be before my contract is due for renewal, in August next year, in which case I will buy myself out of the contract with o2 (UK) which would probably be around 200 when I come to renew.

I don't mind taking a 'hit' on the cost of a new handset, as I could sell my Bold to somebody - it's in very good condition as I've always kept it in a protective case, and if I could get a bit back for it then it'll subsidise my new handset.

My question is, how easy is it to sell a Blackberry. Obviously I will wipe all my personal data - but would the handset work if somebody bought it? Would o2 lock it? (Technically they shouldn't as I'd own it once I'd paid off my contract). If I end my contract on it, does the phone become worthless, or is there value in it? I've seen people selling phones on ebay but didn't know if they had hacked them or unlocked them.
