so i was playing around with a nice and easy password to remember.
and the bright idea came to mind to do a swipe across the keyboard.
somehow i managed to replicate it twice while entering the new password
then of course it wouldnt work
so after 10 tries the blackberry said HA-HA-HA u got pwned
    and erased all my sht.

which i had mixed feelings about.
    anyway
i didnt know what exactly is being erased so i pulled my memory card out.
    and all data was intact.
my sim card was not touched i had all the contacts on it still
half of my installed apps are still installed on my phone.

the only thing that was deleted is the phone settings, phonebook and all

    its kinda random

from what i understood the security wipe erases everything after you fail to enter the right password 10 times

That's right and well known issue from advanced users..
Your personal data will be erased if you did before..password keeper, messages etc.
it's another way to wipe your device even if u learnt accidentally

And good for if someone steals your phone. Wipes it back basically to the way the
    phone came in the box.

    Do regular backups.

    what i meant is
i thought that everything would be wiped out completely.
phones, sim contacts, sms email and your images, voicenotes and pretty much you start with a clean device

but my sim card was not wiped out.

It doesn't wipe the sim card. Only the device.

The sim card and memory card isn't supposed to be wiped out by the security wipe, only the phone.

Some people get 3rd party apps that provide a better wipe. For example, if you lose your phone, there's a way to e-mail or text your phone with a command. The app will then delete everything.
